Start with these three signs

  • Pushes the transaction off-platform
  • Funds cannot be independently confirmed
  • Receiving payment requires a verification fee

How the situation unfolds

  1. Contact

Resale-platform messages or local trading groups.

  2. The lure

An urgent bargain or a buyer offering full payment.

  3. The demand and outcome

Off-platform payments, false receipts, and fake payment links steal money or account details.

Verify these things before paying

  1. Keep communication and payment on-platform
  2. Confirm funds in your own account
  3. Verify high-value goods before handover

Already engaged or paid?

  1. Pause shipping and further payments
  2. Submit a platform dispute
  3. Notify your bank if details were exposed

Contact your payment provider and local police promptly. The responsible institution must confirm whether a payment can be stopped, disputed or returned.
