For families & small groups
Make room for a second opinion.
A practical, 30-minute conversation about scam pressure, independent checks, and the records that help after a loss.

JIANWEI · 30-minute awareness outline · Use invented examples. Do not collect personal financial information.
Before you begin
A useful session needs very little.
Bring this outline, the record checklist, and something to write on. Invite questions, keep the group small enough for everyone to participate, and let people pass on an exercise.
The session outline
- 00–05
MINUTESMake it safe to ask.
Begin with this agreement: anyone can ask for a second opinion without embarrassment. Do not ask participants to disclose personal losses or show private messages.
- 05–12
MINUTESNotice the pressure.
Discuss urgent payment requests, secrecy, unfamiliar links, and promises that change after each payment. Ask: what is the sender trying to make you do before you have time to check?
- 12–20
MINUTESPractice a separate check.
Read the scenario below. Choose a way to verify the request through a number, app, or website you already know. Explain why replying to the same message is not an independent check.
- 20–26
MINUTESKnow what to keep.
Use the record checklist to identify dates, recipient details, receipts, and messages. For crypto, add the transaction ID and network. Use an invented example, not a participant’s account.
- 26–30
MINUTESAgree on a next step.
Each person chooses someone they can contact for a second opinion. Review where to find payment-provider support and official reporting websites.
Try an independent check.
“This is your bank's fraud team. Your money is at risk. Transfer it to the account below now, and don't tell anyone until we finish.”
Ask the group: what would you do before responding or sending money?
Stop the conversation. Open your bank's official app or call the number on your card. Ask the bank whether there is a real issue. Do not use the sender's number or link.
Then change one detail: the request appears to come from a family member. How could you check through an existing number or another person you know?
Take one habit with you.
- Pause when a message demands money or secrecy.
- Verify through a contact route you already trust.
- Ask someone else to look before making a payment.
- If you have already paid, keep records and contact the payment provider.
